One of the most challenging and crucial seasons of life is the “teenage years.” At Eastmont, we know these years can be quite formative in an individual’s personal development. The Eastmont Student Ministry exists to lead 7th-12th grade students and their families to fulfill the mission of God for the glory of God. God’s mission is for us to be disciples who make disciples. In doing this, we glorify God by spreading His name and fame across the globe. We seek to complete God’s mission by leading students to KNOW Christ and GROW in their relationship with Christ in order that they may GO and share Christ’s gospel with others. During the course of the year, we schedule fun weekend retreats, impactful mission trips, local outings, and other activities in order to allow students to KNOW, GROW, and GO in Christ.
Sundays at 9:20 a.m. students meet for LifeGroups. The power of the gospel is best experienced when believers discuss real life issues and dig into God’s Word together in small groups. Sunday Morning LifeGroups allows students to gather in gender-specific groups by grade led by adult volunteers.
Wednesdays at 6:15 p.m. is our largest weekly student gathering. It’s called TIMEOUT because we take a “time out” from the daily grind of school, extra-curricular activities, social media, etc. and spend an hour in worship and in God’s Word. TIMEOUT consists of student-led worship, games and activities, and a Biblical message from our student pastor. The modern worship music and relaxed atmosphere is welcoming to both veteran students and to first-time guests. For students who desire to daily live missional, Christian lives, TIMEOUT allows opportunity to spiritually recharge to finish the week well before gathering again with the church on Sundays.
Youth on Mission
Sundays at 5:00 p.m. we focus on missions. YOUTH ON MISSION is not the name of a group, rather it describes the desire we have to be on mission with God through Bible study, prayer, hands-on projects, and learning about and supporting missionaries around the world.
Winter Retreat (usually in December/January)
A weekend trip filled with worship and activities designed to create unity as a youth group and a body of believers.
Disciple Now (February)
A weekend of delving deeper into the scriptures & local mission projects, etc.
Eastmont Students have participated in numerous mission trips in the recent past: Hoboken, NJ, Tuscaloosa, AL, New Orleans, LA, Anniston, AL, Cherokee, NC, Charleston, SC, Dothan, AL. Additionally, our students serve in a ministry known as 1J2 where our students lead summer bible clubs in specific areas/neighborhoods in Montgomery.
Youth Praise Team
The Youth Praise Team leads worship for the Wednesday night service in the Youth Department and has opportunities to lead in worship for Sunday morning services throughout the year. Youth Praise Team members give extra hours of rehearsal time to prepare their music!
