Do you have a Christmas playlist? Our EBC staff does, so I polled them to know their favorites, and at the end I’ll share their top choices and a maybe a few honorable mentions.
A Christmas playlist is another way we build the anticipation and excitement seeking to catch a glimpse of the truth that is the focus of this very special day. Sometimes we see it in the eyes of a young child filled with wonder at all the lights and presents and parties and music. Sometimes we catch a of glimpse of it in the weary eyes of parents who are ready to collapse after all the shopping and the running from place to place. And sometimes we experience it in the warm embrace of the grandmother humming her favorite Christmas hymn as she welcomes us to the table her hands have worked to prepare once again.
So this year, consider making a playlist, contemplating the reality that the Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.
Perhaps you can begin with some of our staff favorites:
- He Who Is Mighty Silent Night, Holy Night
- Hark! The Herald Angels Sing O Come, All Ye Faithful
- Christmas Has Its Cradle O Holy Night
- I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day All Is Well
- Mary, Did You Know?
Honorable Mentions (mainly just for fun):
- White Christmas
- Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer
- Leroy the Redneck Reindeer (a new one to me)
Merry Christmas Eastmont!
