Mickey joined the Eastmont family in 2023. Mickey is a native of Hammond, Louisiana. He holds a BFA in Music from Louisiana Tech University, an MM in Music and an MM in Music Education from the University of Mississippi, and an MCM from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. In addition, he has completed additional coursework in voice and in choral conducting at the University of Kentucky. Mickey answered the call to local church ministry in 2000. Before joining Eastmont, Mickey served as a music pastor in two churches in Kentucky and was frequently called upon for music leadership within the Kentucky Baptist Convention. Mickey and his wife Sue Ellen were married in 1997. Dr. Sue Ellen Ballard has retired from a career of teaching music at the middle school, high school, and collegiate levels. They have one son, Jake who has completed a degree in Music Education from the University of Kentucky. Mickey has a passion for nurturing and developing the talent that God has given others for use in the worship of God and for His glory. Mickey is a lifelong New Orleans Saints fan, but will watch most any sport being played by most any team. He loves to cook, work in the yard, and make music with his family.
