FROM YOUR WORSHIP PASTOR: Mickey Ballard
Worship: New and Old
Church history is replete with songs to be used in worship of Almighty God. On Friday, August 2, at 6:30 pm, we will draw from the last couple of centuries of Protestant hymnody, both new and old, for the purpose of offering unto God the worship He so richly deserves. We don’t sing the old songs because they’re old; nor do we sing the new songs because they’re new. We sing them because they are God-honoring works which speak to the church as a whole and are useful in educating and edifying the body and of expressing our love and devotion to the Father and His word. Join us that night as we worship through songs new and old!
Christmas in August (yes, you read that right!)
We had a magnificent program of music last year and are looking forward to what should prove to be an
equally exciting night of worship. However, we need you to be a part! Join us on Friday, August 16, from
6:30-8:30, for an evening of snacks (did someone say Christmas cookies?), refreshments, and previewing the music for this year. On Saturday, August 17, we will begin learning the music. Has God given you a voice to praise Him? Then, by all means, join us that weekend!
Thank you
Lastly, on behalf of the technology committee, thank you for taking the time to consider our proposal at the special-called business meeting earlier this month. The questions and discussion were productive and we believe we have an understanding of how to proceed. Please continue to pray for us as we seek His face and direction in moving forward.
On a personal note…
My first year has flown by! On August 15, I will have been in Montgomery for 1 year. Please continue to pray for me, and the other pastors, that we will continue to seek Him, know Him, and serve Him in the most God-honoring way. Bless you! Here’s to many more years of serving the Kingdom together. To God be the glory!
