Good News

I don’t know about you, but it seems to me that everywhere I look there is some sort of bad news. I see negativity on the news channels relating to matters of politics, war in the Middle East, inflation, and even a stolen Carpenters for Christ trailer! I’m certain, you’ve noticed it too. With all this bad news, I think it’s time we hear some good news. Your Eastmont preschool ministry is growing! In recent weeks, we have witnessed new families coming on board, first-time guests in attendance, grandchildren attending alongside their grandparents, and a number of babies being born (with more on the way as well). Don’t believe me? Just wait until Parent/Child Dedication on Sunday, November 17th, and you will see. On that Sunday several families in our church will commit to being the primary disciple makers for their young children and to partnering with Eastmont in that endeavor. Likewise, you and I, as the church, will also commit to support them in the faith journey that awaits each of them.

With all the excitement of little feet waddling through the hallways there comes the additional need/opportunity for ministry. Volunteering in our preschool is a rewarding task. It is more than mere babysitting. Preschool volunteers plant seeds of faith, show kindness, and model God’s love through their care. Every week we have the privilege of introducing our youngest children to the love of Jesus in a safe environment by the way we tell Bible stories, read books about Jesus, love and care for their needs (emotional, physical, and spiritual). With all these additions, there are around fifteen openings that we would love to have filled on Sunday mornings. There are opportunities to serve with bed-babies through three-year-olds once a month, on and off months, and/or to serve every week during the LifeGroup hour and during the worship service!

We invite you to prayerfully consider serving with us in this vital ministry of the church. If you have any interest in helping teach this newest generation of Eastmont please let me know. You can reach out to me at [email protected].
