A Response to ‘Roe v Wade’

“We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled.”[1]

Like so many I was elated and moved to tears with thankfulness over this announcement. Thankful for those who have stood in the gap for mothers who thought they had no other options lending their voices to the unborn. Thankful for those who have prayed, given, lobbied, fostered, adopted, sponsored, encouraged, and loved those targeted by the abortion industry.

But let us remember that the battle is not over. The culture of death represented by much of the media and those who would desire for the continued murder of unborn children are not going to stop.  Each state will now be tasked with fighting for life on the local level. Let us not gloat as the world would have us to, but let us continue to fight for those yet to be born and for the over 63 million that will never have a voice to plead their cause.

For sure there is much to celebrate this day as we have seen a great victory in the 50 year battle for life, but there is much to do. There are women who are afraid and fear they have nowhere to turn. There are ministries that are as crucial today as when they were first founded who need our support. There are politicians who need to see and speak with clarity that all life is sacred from the moment of conception to natural death. There are churches that need to speak and act with clarity repenting of their silence on behalf of the unborn. There are prayers of thanksgiving to be offered to our great God and King for the blessing of life!!!

To be sure Dobbs will begin to change the landscape of our nation in relation to abortion, but it is only the Gospel of Jesus Christ which can provide eternal hope and joy. Let us today work and speak in light of the Gospel that has given us eternal life and unending joy!
