Love in Action

August 27th will be a big day in the life of Eastmont! On that day, we will have an opportunity to come together as a church family and then go out to serve our community. Love in Action: A Day of Service is an event that will provide our faith family with projects to work on together in an effort to love our community and to demonstrate the love of Jesus.

Most people will meet at the church at 9:00 am to gather with their work group, be commissioned, and then head out to their sites. Groups will meet back at the church by 12:30 for lunch, and to share with each other about their projects.

There is a way for anyone to be involved in. There are projects for men, women, children, and families. There are projects suitable for children and there are projects suitable for senior adults. Most projects will take place off-site, but there are a few that will take place at the church. There are even ways that members who arent available on the 27th can participate.

Beginning Sunday, July 24th, you will be able to get more information about project options and sign up in the connecting hall for a project. There will be a “Give What You Can” donation board. The board will have paper hearts posted with items written on them that are needed for various projects. You can also choose to make a monetary donation to help offset the cost of some of the projects. Please join us as we put Love in Action!

The following sites will host projects:

  • AHEPA (Assisted Living Facility)
  • Brantwood Children’s Home
  • CASA – Child Advocacy Services
  • Community of Hope
  • Pillowcase Ministry
  • First Choice
  • Friendship Mission
  • Love Loud Montgomery
  • Hope Inspired Ministries
  • Child Safe Kit Distribution
  • Reality in Truth
  • Goodwyn Middle School
  • Fishers’ Farm
